Harbhajan says Ashwin, Jadeja will win it for India
Ashwin, Jadeja picked 8 wickets between them in 1st innings
India facing Australia at VCA Stadium in Nagpur
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh said that Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will do the job for India. India's spin duo took eight wickets between them as India bundled out Australia for 177 in the first innings of the Nagpur Test.
Harbhajan said on his Youtube channel that Ashwin and Jadeja will do the job for India and win the match on Day 3. Ashwin picked up three wickets while Jadeja took five wickets on his return to international cricket after a long injury layoff. "I think Ashwin will pick the most wickets and Jadeja will also have some. These two spinners will get the job done. They have many left-handers, so Ashwin will probably start with the new ball. I think the spinners will win the match for India tomorrow,” said Harbhajan.
The 42-year-old said Jadeja played a fabulous innings on Day 2 and insisted he showed how Test cricket should be played. Jadeja scored 70 runs for India before being dismissed by Todd Murphy. "He picked five wickets with the ball. But the innings he played was such a fabulous innings. It wasn't typical where Jadeja just came in and went on hitting. He showed defense and his step over was also good. He showed the game that is played in Test cricket,” Harbhajan added.
He further said that the partnership of Jadeja and Axar Patel pushed Australia out of the game. The two all-rounders put on a 88-run stand to see Australia back on day 2. "Jadeja's innings was a big, big plus. The partnership between Jadeja and Axar Patel has pushed Australia out of the game. There is enough that Australia, even by chance, cannot come back into the game because we have seen on the pitch how (the ball) is spinning,” said Harbhajan.
